CRYWOLF - DRIP (MIELO REIMAGINATION)

Following the well-received unveiling of his widow [OBLIVION pt. 1] album, LA-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Crywolf is casting colleagues and new-found producers alike for his release of The OBLIVION [Reimagined]. The debut curtain call for the forthcoming remix catalog goes to Chicago-based producer Mielo. With three years of success under his belt, the versatile producer gives an 80s inspired treatment to “DRIP.” While the original joint was cut with geometric soundscapes and syncopated melodies, Mielo rinses out the track with a bit of buoyancy. A slow, narcotic intro complements Crywolf’s haunting signature sound, later blossoming into a futuristic network of punchy drum kicks and electrifying synths. A gritty film cascades atop echoing vocals, projecting colorful shadows throughout this dynamic remix. An immersive listening experience, Mielo’s clever sound design stands as the archetypal introduction to Crywolf’s The OBLIVION [Reimagined]. Watch this space.

Mielo is an artist we can get behind! This Chicago producer is starting his rise to greatness, and we're here to kick off his first US tour! So excited to announce the Illusory Tour where Mielo will be hitting a number of festivals and select city club plays. We've gotten to know this yung producer pretty well over the past year, having made a siiick guest mix for BUZZZMIX VOL. 37 as well as featured at our SXSW party in Austin, so we're pretty much fam. His future bass feels always make us feel warm and fuzzy while shaking our butts on the dance floor ... throwing trap arms of course! Check out the dates blow and get out to a show! 

[PREMIERE] MIELO - SURREAL (STRATUS REMIX)

It's no secret the mid-west city of Chicago is producing some major players in the electronic music scene as of late. They may all be moving to LA, but they know their roots! Today's premiere features two of these chi-town rising stars with this siiiick Stratus remix of "Surreal" by Mielo. I love this sexy slow groove under syncopated dance beats and big trap drops. This is the kind of track that makes a dance floor get dirty! Mielo will be heading out on his first US tour this year, and after featuring him at our SXSW show this year I can tell you its a set that can't be missed - more info to come on that soon! MIELO - ALL WE'VE LOST (FEAT. DANÉL)

With summer right around the corner, I've been seeing a steady stream of upbeat releases. One of my most recent obsessions is Mielo's brand new original, "All We've Lost" featuring singer Danél. Hailing from my hometown of Chicago, the electronic producer graces the indie-electronic music scene with yet another intoxicating piece that’s got me feeling all of the feels. The track tells an oh-too-familiar story of heartache and getting past the pain. The track builds gradually through electric synths, echoing beats and an uplifting melody. Finally Danél tops it off with silky vocals that blend perfectly with Mielo's production. Check it out and see why it's nearly impossible not to fall head over heels in love with "All We've Lost." Chicago has been quite a hub for emerging electronic music artists over the past few years, we have no shortage of very young and extremely talented producers making big moves in the midwest ... a far departure from our buzzing EDM capital Los Angeles.  Our next Buzzzmix features one of these fresh faces and he's coming out strong with this one ... damn son! Mielo is bringing big bass vibes and future feels - this is a beast of a mix that is guaranteed to get you bouncing around and throwing those feel good trap arms! [PREMIERE] MIELO X IEUAN - PRETTY WHEN U CRY

Ohh I've got a treat for you here from Chi town's Mielo. The recent Iowa University grad has made a name for himself spinning for big crowds across the midwest, while putting up some massive numbers on Soundcloud with his Porter Robinson remix, and a simply delightful original entitled "Surreal". Well today we're absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to premiere his latest single "Pretty When U Cry". This emotionally charged tune has immediately cinematic beginnings with a phone call intro, but quickly dives into dark, murky, and reverby territory with a droning pad and solemn piano underneath ieuan's haunting vocals. The reflective and questioning lyricism perfectly accents the layers of gritty synth work combined with the chorus' longing synth blips. This song could easily stand alone as a great acoustic track which further enhances its effectiveness as a fully produced piece of art. The white noise stabs at the end jolt us back to reality in what seems like a quick 3 minutes and 54 seconds. I was left breathless and was immediately clamoring to hit play a second time. This relatively new producer has hit an emotional nerve with most of his releases and neatly packs this single in with the rest of his budding catalogue.
