[PREMIERE] CLOVO - GIRLS

Original Mix, PREMIERE, MusicAlli LindseyComment

Gold Coast starlet clovo is Australia’s freshest alt-pop act on the rise. The brainchild of Chloe Magee, clovo stands for radical feminism and liberation. Likened to the pioneering sounds of Grimes and Billie Eilish, clovo draws inspiration from greatness. Although she boasts a familiar sound, clovo is an inimitable force in the pop landscape. Her debut single, aptly-titled “Girls” is a haunting cut dedicated to the unifying force of female empowerment. Combating abusers, “Girls” ruthlessly hexes those who dare disrespect the divine force of womanhood. Her cerebral voice echos through narcotic pop instrumentals to present a message so profound it leaves a lingering taste of rebellion long after its final sweeping crescendo. An unfettered call to action, “girls” is a unifying anthem with sophisticated soundscapes and a revolutionary mantra to boot.

[PREMIERE] KANTOR - FLOPPY DISK

Music, Original Mix, PREMIEREAlli LindseyComment

Kantor is an electronic force to be reckoned with a magnetic pull about him stemming from his fierce and original sounds. Boasting a wide range of electronic atmospheres and tempos that commonly include mid-tempo to house structures - with the occasional melodic trap tune thrown in for good measure - Kantor doesn’t take any genre one off the table, but does juxtapose this with a strict sense of it fitting into what makes Kantor, “Kantor.” “Floppy Disk,” puts some of the most infectious and imaginative styles of the Kantor world back on display. Since the genesis of the alias in mid-2020, every release always comes equipped with a well thought out in-depth theme. Yet, within this single-driven universe drawn up by the soloist, he has formulated a specific line of cyber-punk-inspired winners that easily can be named as the cream of the crop.

Quietly electronic, Love Level excels at blending a series of genres together to create a sound entirely their own. The indie-pop songstresses have no issue wearing their hearts on their sleeve; their earnest and unwavering commitment to poetry is unmistakable, and “Why You Left” is no exception. Although a relatively new outfit in modern indie-electronic music, Love Level is blossoming at a rate much deserved. Watch this space for their debut

“Writing ‘Why You Left’ was a super personal experience for us. There were so many emotions and feelings we both had, and both wanted to express that when we came together to write, the song just fell into place so fast. We brought the song to our producer, Callum MacDonaldof daste., and practically finished it in one session. For us, this song is about dealing with the sudden loss of a friendship and not fully understanding where things went wrong, or why you lost them. It’s about accepting that they’re happy without you but also the bittersweet feeling that comes with holding onto the good memories you had with them” - Love Level
