Well it's taking a while, but slowly we're being graced with new Louis the Child records. Their most recent release "Weekend" featuring Icona Pop established a trend that I hear continuing with their newest "Fire." It seems like kid references are everywhere in music branding now-a-days (young, kid, child, lil etc), but with LTC not only is their branding youthful and energetic their sound is also following suit. Freddy, LTC's musical maestro, has engineered a style with sounds and melodies that are light, cheery and exuberant setting the tone for the profile that they want to exploit. "Fire" is a pleaser from the second you hit play. Evalyn's cutting vocals soar above the beat eventually building to the signature flume-esque future bass chorus that we've come to love and expect from the boys. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 3 months for another LTC record, but even if we do I think we'll be ok because "Fire's" flame won't be extinguished any time soon. You can stream/download "Fire" from Ultra Records here.

[PREMIERE] MR. CARMACK - PAY FOR WHAT (ALEXANDER LEWIS TMB FLIP)
PREMIERE, Music, RemixCommentIt's Monday morning and I gotta say - after all the raging I did over the weekend with all kinds of producers rolling through SF playing fire sets - starting off this week strong with a huge track is the only way to go! Let's all get our blood pumping with our next premiere of Alexander Lewis slaying his flip of "Pay For What" by Mr. Carmack! This young producer is dropping some serious bass - and if you have not had the chance to catch a live set, he pulls out a trombone to play live, and it's pretty much bananas all the time! It's your lucky day because this one can be downloaded for free HERE! Happy Monday!
