MANILA KILLA - WAKE UP CALL (SLOW MAGIC REMIX)

RemixKelsey JamesComment

Slow Magic is a master at creating fluttery and infectious rhythms over pounding beats. His discography reflects this, with hits such as “Girls” and “Waited 4 U.” Last night, he kicked off his tour with a brand new live set-up. To celebrate such a monumental occasion, he dropped his remix of Manila Killa’s “Wake Up Call.” I stumbled upon the remix totally by accident as I was deep into a Spotify search, and how pleasantly surprised I was! “Wake Up Call” is the second track on Manila Killa’s recently released album titled 1993.

Slow Magic’s tour is running now through May 4, stopping in major cities such as Orlando, Boulder, Las Vegas and more. To see a complete list of the cities he’s stopping in or to purchase tickets to a show, click here.

RUSTY HOOK - RELIEF (FT. TRUITT)

Original Mix, MusicGuest UserComment

For the unawares, Rusty Hook, aside from his contribution to the Slow Hours project, has been lurking around SoundCloud racking up millions of plays and drawing off the oldest heads on the platform. He has been building his cv and biding his time, but now he is ready to release his first original project, Romance is Dead, Good Riddance. The first single of the compilation, ‘Relief’, features smooth and colorful vocals from brother-sister duo Truitt. Rusty Hook’s production on the track blends R&B with electronic, leaving a lasting impression. Combined with the sultry lyrical delivery of Truitt, the track truly shines.

Disclosure: Rusty Hook is promoted by Beautiful Buzzz writer Lindsey Oh + Alli Lindsey

KASBO - FOUND YOU (FEAT. CHELSEA CUTLER)

MusicMike DooseComment

It wouldn’t be a week in new music without another release from some under 21 youngster who’s got mind-blowing production talent. Sweden’s Kasbo, whose remixes of Big Gigantic, Vance Joy, and Mutemath we’ve featured previously, is here with his third original song out today via San Holo’s label bitbird. For “Found You” he’s teamed up with Ultra signee Chelsea Cutler who’s already had a busy 2017 with a string of stellar collabs with the likes of Louis The Child, ayokay, and Kidswaste. Beginning with modulated vocal bends and the sounds of birds chirping leading into Cutler’s dainty sing-song melodies, the track goes on to emulate the subtle floating emotions of ecstasy that come with finding someone with whom the feeling is mutual. In three minutes, Kasbo with his playful percussion and vibey synths and Cutler with her airy sweet vocals have managed to create an impressive tune that exemplifies young love in 2017.

FAREOH - ILLEGAL (FEAT. KATELYN TARVER)

MusicMike DooseComment

Fareoh's back and in a big way! Not that he was ever gone. We've been big supporters of the NY producer for some time now. His big, inspiring melodic productions are the kind of tracks you blast in the car, but could definitely still get down to on the dance floor. This latest banger "Illegal" with Katelyn Tarver is pure pop-electro pleasure. Playful yet sophisticated production, catchy songwriting, and just a great overall positive vibe. You might even catch me shamelessly fist bumping to this one driving down the 405. Listen above and grab it for yourself HERE.

ANEVO - DON'T SHOOT ME DOWN (FT. JAE-MI)

Music, Original MixHarrison MorganComment

If one of these hot summer days you happen to be cruising down the street with the windows down, I've got just the song for you. Up until now, I can't say that I've heard of Anevo, but that's definitely about to change. With his newest release "Don't Shoot Me Down" featuring Jae-Mi on Monstercat, Anevo creates the perfect tune to cool down with when the sun is just too hot to bear. Melodic electronic has come to grow on me on this year...

LAPSLEY - BURN (VASTA REMIX)

Music, RemixErin MaherComment

Vasta may be all shiny and new on the scene, but we've been keeping our eyes and ears on him for a minute - watching him drop one one great remix after another over the past few months.  I am assuming he is west coast grown based on his Facebook vibes, but other than that kind of a mystery.  Today he hands us his next track, a remix of "Burn"  by Låpsley and it's has the perfect amount of melodic deep house vibes for your morning wake up call.  I'm loving this!  Get into something new today and check out Vasta!  You can grab a free download HERE

NGHTMRE & BOOMBOX CARTEL - AFTERSHOCK (ORIGINAL MIX)

Music, Original MixEricComment

We're getting melodic and very hype this AM with this new NGHTMRE & Boombox Cartel collab. "Aftershock" starts off with a pensive piano intro with a longing vocal chop, but quickly turns it up with future bright synth explosions. Don't get too lulled into dreamland yet because then we get snapped into the real build. True to NGHTMRE form this track gets HUGE with a trappy glitchy drop that swipes you up in the air and then pounds you back down to earth. You're relieved back into the Boombox Style piano riff from the beginning, and the song takes on its full shape. Equal parts melodic and grungy this track is blissfully heavy. Just the kind of excellence we would expect from a collaboration of this magnitude. OH and it's that FREE DL homies!
