My boyfriends Droeloe are constantly dropping the best jams ... it's like every time I turn around they have something new to dazzle the senses. Swoon! So far we've had huge success with these legends ... first filing our SXSW venue in Austin to over capacity, and then selling out our SF show in less than 5 minutes .... I mean DROELOE and San Holo are kinda crushing everything! Last week they dropped this new track "Lines of the Broken ft. CUT_" via bitbird that I am totally in love with. I recently did 2 shows with these legends, one in Austin at SXSW and another in San Francisco  - both were sold out ragers and both were fun as hell. Now officially BB boyfriends, DROELOE will always have a place on these pages, a spot on my stage and a piece of my heart! And .... sometimes this happens!! New show y'all - one I am so excited about I can hardly contain myself.  I've been waiting to do a show with Dutch producer San Holo for almost 2 years now, and finally that time has come! March 24 at 1015 Folsom in San Francisco, we'll be getting lit with the legend himself, along with DROELOE, WRLD, and SMLE. This line-up is bananas! Dutch duo DROELOE just partnered with Belle Doron to put together the absolutely fire track "In Time". Belle Doron's electropop vibe is chopped up just enough to add a hard edge without losing its vibrancy. DROELOE manages to drive through a triumphant, exhilarating refrain that takes me to an imaginary rave parade marching through city streets lined with jubilant fans rocking out. DROELOE - WAKE THE WARRIOR

There's two things that really stand out to me in electronic music, they often go hand-in-hand, but when done right can turn a track into other-worldly good. First is simply good songwriting - just because electronic music is computer based and easier to make definitely does NOT diminish the raw skills it takes to construct the music. Think about how often we have seen really great guitar or piano covers of dance music hits (listen to both of Above and Beyond's Acoustic LP's if you really need an example). Second and what I'm going to focus on in this post is sound design. Sound design is the launchpad for electronic success. Some producers like Amon Tobin, CloZee, Bonobo and recently Tennyson immediately come to mind for outstanding sound design. Well pack Dutch duo Droeloe in with that group as expertly shown in their newest exposé "Wake the Warrior." An impressive amount of skill has gone in to the construction of this single with fantastic use of reverb, guitar, percussion and a droning bass sound that's sending chills down my spine. The haunting lead melody intertwines with night sound effects resulting in a soundtrack that could easily be inserted into Netflix's "Stranger Things." If you have a good set of headphones please use them to listen to this one so that you can really appreciate what the guys have done. "Wake the Warrior" is a perfect example where both songwriting and sound design have come together for raw electronic bliss. WRLD x FATHERDUDE - GALAXIES (DROELOE REMIX)

This weekend has been more about catching Pokemon over blogging tbh - I've become part of the masses and joined in the hunt ... what a time to be alive! However, listening to music never stops, and this one just came up on my SC feed for all the delicious feels! Dutch trio DROELOE have remixed one of my favorite tracks of the summer "Galaxies" by WRLD x Fatherdude. They've flipped this one with flunky future beats and synthy melodies, and Fatherdude's vocals are insane as always!
