Stunning, striking, robust, and riddled with soul, Beautiful Buzzz favorite Emmit Fenn returns with “Where Have I Gone” featuring the resilient vocals of femme powerhouse, CHARLOTTE. Combining the sounds of nu-soul with a buttery, house-esque production, “Where Have I Gone” is one of Emmit’s finest tracks to date. A tasty experience through dreamy soundscapes, the single is down right stirring, sexy. Channeling the sounds of the moon, the duet shares a deep and illuminating sense of synchronicity, shining light on a new wave of music. Delicately balanced with a signature, even palpable cadence, “Where Have I Gone” will be beaming through my speakers all week. Tune in with me.
JVLY - BLUE PILL (FT. SARAI)
Music, Original MixCommentMinimal and innovative, Aussie’s own JVLY returns with “Blue Pill,” the debut release for Mammal Sounds Records. Featuring vocals from Sydney-based SARAI, “Blue Pill” is a Lo-Fi, bedroom R&B masterpiece. His unique take on production shines with this release- both warm and demanding. Creating a genre all his own, JVLY follows no particular algorithm to create such alluring bodies of art, allowing him to stand righteously outside the mainstream. As a wave continues to break in the music industry, JVLY is cruising waters miles ahead of the tipping point. Explore this labyrinth of mid-tempo feels and keep your eyes peeled from both JVLY and Mammal Sounds Records. This is just the beginning.
SWINDAIL - C'EST LA VIE (FEAT. INNANET JAMES)
Music, TourCommentIt’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared any new music on here. Basically my day job has started consuming my life and I have less time for doing the things I love that generate no income for me, like sharing dope tunes! But I just couldn’t pass up this track. From the first listen to Australian wünderkind producer Swindail’s new jam “C’est la Vie” I was immediately hooked by the bumping hip hop heater. Swindy has some of the best sound design in the business when it comes to percussion, and here he crafts the perfect vibe over which Innanet James spits some seriously fire verses. It’s just a banger that instantly makes you want to turn up and enjoy some fine-quality substances, if they’re legal in your state and you’re of legal age of course.
For our Aussie readers, catch Swindail on his first full headlining AUS tour over the coming months.
As his Soundcloud tersely puts it: “tour on sale rite fkn now: swindail.com“

JOSH JACOBSON - POLAROIDS
MusicCommentNew to the blog today is Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter, producer and instrumentalist Josh Jacobson (that’s right he does it all). ‘Polaroids’ is the soulful first single from his forthcoming debut EP First Light. Over the last few months, Josh has cemented his place as a pioneer of the genre of 'future soul' with a string of acclaimed releases that blend forward-thinking electronic production with soulful vocals and live instrumentation. His cover of Little Dragon’s ‘Twice’ showcased his versatility in both creating unique and interesting soundscapes and smoothly crooning overtop of them.
On ‘Polaroids’ he weaves emotional R&B vocal lines in and out of pulsating synths, trap hi-hats and echoing toms. Lyrically, he takes the listener through a story of faded memories, moments lost in time and a continual search for meaning. This single hints at the the emotional storm the much-anticipated First Light is sure to be! Stream it on Spotify here.
NOAH - AIRPORT BAR (COASTAL REMIX)
Music, RemixCommentIt’s the holiday season, so a time for traveling and spending time sitting in airport bars contemplating life, right? At least that’s what R&B/Neo-soul singer Noah must have been thinking last year when he dropped “Airport Bar” - a slow burning, blissfully relaxing number that borrows the melody from Willy Wonka’s “Pure Imagination” and became a smash hit on Soundcloud.
This year, Coastal — co-founder of SoCal label Clouds Collective and part of Ethereal Family — revisits the record, bringing it up to speed into a playful electronic track with some tasty future bounce. I’m a fan.
DIFFERENT SLEEP - FIRST TO SAY (FT. VANESSA ELISHA)
Music, Original MixCommentI'm just gonna say I love Vanessa Elisha's voice. We've been big supporters of this up-and-coming Aussie and I couldn't stop myself from supporting her new tune with Different Sleep. "First To Say" is a moody tune that slowly builds from ambient sounds and and moving pads into a vibey drop with pumping sub and two step percussion. The track envelopes you with emotional fervor as Vanessa's moving vocals entreat you to bob your head back and forth. This track is juicy and is totally ready for your rainy afternoon. You can stream this tune on Spotify here.
