We’re big fans of Phil Good here at Beautiful Buzzz. Just click his name in the tags section at the bottom of this post to see all the times we’ve raved about him. This latest one is definitely one of my favorites so far. On top of just being a really rad, moving, emotional piece, it has these epic choral backing vocals that come in during the climactic moments of the chorus and lift the song to such an impactful level (presumably just Phil tweaking his own vocals to sound like a choir supporting him). Somebody please let me know when I can see Phil Good live in LA, because I’ll 100% be there.

PHIL GOOD - I MISS YOU
MusicCommentOne of the coolest things about the modern day music industry is the existence of artists who do everything on their own. There is a growing contingent of artists who are the all-in-one singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Los Angeles-based Phil Good is one of this new breed of creators. He burst onto the scene last year with infectious debut single "Sleeping In" and has since followed up with a couple great remixes (including this one by Sean Turk), a killer collab with k?d, and sophomore burner "Growing Up" — you could say we're fans.
This week he shares his third solo track "I Miss You" which is yet another emotionally relatable record with catchy melodies and upbeat bouncy contemporary production. I've been blasting this one and singing it everywhere from my commute to the shower. Give it a listen and you will be too.
Phil himself shared a short story about the song:
“I Miss You is the first song in a while that just poured out of me. I wrote it during a visit home last Christmas on one of my best friends' couch while looking out at a pretty incredible wintery view of Portland. Everything was movie-perfect except for the fact that the love of my life with was not there with me. I think writing and producing this song really helped me better understand this project and pave a clearer path of the future of Phil Good and the type of catchy-but-not-too-happy music I want to make.” - Phil Good
K?D - LOSE MYSELF FT. PHIL GOOD
Music, Original MixCommentI'm posting somewhat of a flashback this morning ... I was letting Soundcloud play suggested tracks and this one popped up and I was like .... oh yummy! Of course it's K?D! We love everything he puts into the world, and a few weeks ago he dropped "Lose Myself ft. Phil Good" and I just could not resist posting. So many future feels with this one, I love it! Enjoy!
PHIL GOOD - GROWING UP
MusicCommentPhil Good is back and he is absolutely philling it with this second release! (See what I did there?) In all seriousness though, the Los Angeles singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist came out of the gates incredibly strong with debut single “Sleeping In” which was a frickin’ earworm if I’ve ever heard one. The guy can write hooks! But he’s got the lyrical prowess and production chops to go along with it, which is certainly rare these days. With top-notch future pop production, relatable lyrics, and a killer synth lead, “Growing Up” is a deeper and darker follow up which shows a more emotional side to the emerging artist. He’s in good company too with fellow Working Group Management clients like Cheat Codes, Billie Eilish, and CADE (among others). I for one am extremely eager to hear more of what’s in store for Phil Good.
PHIL GOOD - SLEEPING IN (SEAN TURK REMIX)
Music, RemixCommentWe're big fans of Sean Turk over here at BB. Our boss lady has even gone so far as to say that he's better than tacos. Certainly debatable because...tacos! But when he keeps putting out consistently great quality tracks, like this remix of Phil Good's debut "Sleeping In", it's not hard to see why that claim could be made.
The original's hook "We're always sleeping in" is a next-level ear-worm which has been playing in my head since it came out. Turk's adaptation bumps up the tempo a notch and throws in some super vibey future synths, snappy hi-hats, and the kind of percussion that makes you want to get up and dance like one of those kids in those ridiculous meme videos you see going viral on Facebook.
