MARK JOHNS - BEFORE YOU & MOLINO + MOLINO EP DUE 10/28

If you haven't been following the Mark Johns saga developing over the last year then you need to catch up quick. This talented singer/songwriter has been developing her sound through break out hits with the likes of Alexander Lewis & Brasstracks in "5 South," the amazing "Imposter" with Bearson, and an awesome Amy Winehouse cover of "Rehab," which have all led to her being the first vocalist signed to Skrillex's label OWSLA. Flash forward, we're stoked to see the announcement of the Molino EP due 10/28 along with a taste of what's to come in these two gems "Before You" and "Molino." Now before you throw up your trap arms from what you would normally expect from an OWSLA record, Mark Johns is setting a completely different tone. As a bold and possibly a stroke of genius move, she wanted a raw and impactful type of EP to be her debut; exposing her emotional inner artist before she evolves and progresses. Both singles draw from the rough experiences she went through after she first moved to LA. Drawing from that emotional time in her life, the lyrics and melodies draw us close to her sensitivities in a way that is wholly endearing. It takes real guts to come right out of the gates with records like these, and it definitely shows off the maturity she already has as a young artist. Mark Johns is showing us that you don't have to shove down the door to the music industry with guns a-blazing to break through. ATLAS BOUND - OH LOVER FT. MARK JOHNS

Australian electro-pop duo Atlas Bound are totally swoon worthy! Having released their Lullaby EP a few days ago via Next Wave Records, it was hard to single out just one track to talk about, because they are all pretty great. "Oh Lover ft. Mark Johns" won the coin toss however, and we are very much in love with everything about it! From the dreamy vocals to light airy synths, this one will give you all the good feels. AMY WINEHOUSE - REHAB (MARK JOHNS COVER PROD. TENNYSON)

I've been trying to get this one up for a few days now - and finally I found 2 seconds to catch up and give some love to our girl Mark Johns! She's been killing it lately - we have been feeling everything she's putting out into the world, and this new cover of break out single  "Rehab" from Amy Winehouse is bananas good! I especially love how she states in her SC description that her management is going to be pissed that she dropped this w/o permission - but I say more power to you girl! Drop that shit whenever you feel, we'll back you 100% of the time! Mark Johns puts a soulful sensual spin on this classic track - it's brilliant! Hold on tight kids - today is a killer day for music, and we have a ton of delicious things coming your way! We're starting things off with new original track "BTFU (Mommy Issues)" from Los Angeles songstress and Moving Castle comrade Mark Johns. So, she pretty much crushes all things, and I may have a slight girl crush happening - her husky soulful voice is so dreamy and this track is so full of future R&B vibes how could one not love it! It's a sad day in the music industry ... we are all mourning the death of David Bowie!  An artist who brought so much inspiration to all of our lives .... he will be greatly missed! This weeks Buzzz Box is dedicated to this legend who helped shape my love and passion for music.  RIP!

As I struggle to wake up and start the work day this morning -- I remember that the new original track from Bearson came out today, and my Monday blues seem to evaporate.  This Norwegian producer has been making some huge waves lately with solid releases and his label Next Wave Records is kinda crushing the game! Yeah -- we are all paying attention to this legend, and we love watching the greatness unfold.  "Imposter ft.
