PYN - DESIRE

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

At the intersection of dance-pop and disco, Dutch songstress PYN delivers her new single “Desire.” The track is a mere fraction of her ongoing Beat Drama release series set to include singles, remixes, and EP packages to boot. “Desire” is a colorful lounge-house cut with a quick-witted spirit thanks to her refreshing, intricate, and accessible sound design. Her vocal prowess pulses through veins made up of retro synths, sharp percussive elements, and hypnotic rolling beats. A girl-powered electro-pop triumph, “Desire” is designed to wear out the replay button.

THIRD FLOOR x OLSEN - LOST IN YOU FEAT. BOSWELL

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

The reinvention of pioneering genres in contemporary music is a tactic to be revered. Keeping old-school tunes alive is necessary, but the execution of such is no easy feat. In tri-collaboration, Third Floor, Olsen, and Boswell co-created an unstoppable alliance that combines vintage reverb with contemporary cadences. Their artistic compatibility shines with the release of "Lost," a nu-jazz track with a deep-house foundation, and the sensual tendencies of R&B. A track likened to the sounds of Disclosure, "Lost In You" is dreamy, robust, and meditative. It's energy is compelling, seductive, and cozy leaving your senses revitalized. As a writer I have the tendency to scribe my opinions in the third person, avoiding personal bias. But, "Lost In You" forces me out of my comfort zone, demanding respect- I. Love. This. Track. This romantic piece is one of the best musical compositions I have had the pleasure of listening to in months; I am nothing short of stunned by this jazz-fusion psalm. Check the original track, and it's coinciding remixes ASAP.

SIVIK - ALL DAY ALL NIGHT (JOHN LOCK REMIX)

Music, RemixEricComment

So this is gonna make blog number 3 for me today, and yet there's still so much more music I could get to - it's like we're gearing up for festival season or something... Regardless, I really loved Sivik's original "All Day All Night" and was pretty pumped when he sent over this John Lock remix. Electronic music in general has gotten so chill lately and I am in no way complaining. This remix is full of laid back bliss, and chill housey tones it should put you at ease. Dig in to this during an breezey afternoon picnic and get lost in the clouds. You can grab this as a free download here.

SLAPTOP - PASSENGER FEAT. WILL FRAKER

Music, Original MixEricComment

One of the first times that the fabulous Erin and I ever hung out together in LA I confessed I had fallen in love with her little blog. Slaptop was one of the artists that immediately came to mind when I thought about all the amazing new acts she had exposed me to. I remember distinctly it was his single "Away" over a year ago damnnn how time flies! Well his newest "Passenger Feat. Will Fraker" came out last week and it's definitely a must hear. Slaptop has such a unique sun drenched vibe to all of his records, and this one is just soo good! The deep/golden/lounge (whatever you want to call it) house instrumental just fits all too well underneath Will Fraker's relaxing vocals. If me writing this review exposes you to this amazing artist for the first time, well hey...that would just be fitting : ). You can purchase this from The Magician's label Potion Records here
